    Green Tea

The Most Natural Variety of Chinese Tea
Green tea is considered as the most natural of all Chinese teas. Perhaps, it may be due to the fact that it does not undergo fermentation which makes it possible to keep the tea leaves original color. The process of producing green tea involves cooking or firing the young tea leaves which is done in specially-made wok called Ding or an oven. The firing process itself is the main reason why the tea is able to preserve its original color. It is also significant in adding a fuller body and flavor to the produced tea. Considering how the tea taste, it features vegetal, sweet and nutty flavors.
Green tea is primarily grown in the Zhejiang Province and it is where the most famous of Green teas are grown and produced like the Dragon well, Anji Bai Cha as well as Jade Tips. Aside from this region, green tea is also popularly produced in Anhui, Jiangsu and Hainan.

    Chinese Green Tea Types
Like any types of teas, Chinese green tea also comes with several varieties. These are:

    • Dragon Well Tea – is characterized by flat and spear-shaped leaves. The leaves are customarily handpicked in pairs and are only grown within the Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province.
    • Mao Jian – is known as a high quality Chinese green tea that is primarily produced in the area of Xinyang, Henan Province. The leaves are small and are slightly in downy sea-green color with silver tips. It produces yellow-colored liquid which boasts of nutty and sweet taste.
    • Pouchong – is a kind of lightly-oxidized tea and is a variety between Oolong and Green tea. Although it is a green tea variety, its lack of sharper green tea flavor makes it more popularly classified under the former type. In taste, it offers that rich and melony taste.
    • Anji Ba Cha – is a type of high-quality green tea, and it is produced by stopping the oxidation by firing in order to create a more pronounced and deepness in flavor. Its leaves are downy in appearance and are shaped like an arrow.

What is Green Tea Good for
Green tea has been a popular subject for several medical and scientific studies in the past decades. All these are efforts to determine the health benefits that this drink can offer. Several of these studies suggest that regular drinking of green tea may help lower the risk of developing certain cancer types and heart disease. This type of tea has low levels of caffeine content and high levels of antioxidants. The antioxidant content in green tea is also known to help in boosting eyesight. Other notable green tea benefits are it helps combat allergies, lower cholesterol levels, promote healthy teeth and gums, aid in weight loss and more.

    Chinese Green Tea Weight Loss

These studies show that the caffeine and catechin antioxidants it contain plays an important role in helping the body in burning more calories, which is what everyone calls as increased metabolism. Hence this best Chinese green tea is also popularly referred as the metabolism booster because it works by unlocking fat cells.
